When air freight is the right choice
Air freight can suit an urgent replacement part, a production deadline or high-value cargo whose delivery timing justifies the transport cost. For less urgent stock, compare sea or road freight as well. Tell ASL the date the goods must reach their destination, rather than only the preferred flight date, so customs, handling and onward delivery are included in the plan.
Chargeable weight and airline acceptance
Air cargo is generally rated against actual and volumetric weight. Provide dimensions for every packed piece, including pallets and protective packing; an estimate based only on product weight can produce an inaccurate quotation. Declare batteries, liquids, magnets, chemicals and temperature requirements early. Acceptance depends on the commodity, airline, routing and packaging, and a booking is subject to those checks.
From supplier collection to final delivery
Airport-to-airport transit covers only part of the movement. Collection, export handling, screening, flight connections, customs release and destination delivery each affect the overall timeline. Commercial invoices, packing lists and air waybill details should agree. For a UK import, ASL can coordinate the declaration and collection from the handling agent once the cargo is released.

Is a direct flight always the fastest option?
Not necessarily. The next available uplift, cargo acceptance, handling and delivery arrangements matter as well as flight time. ASL compares the available options against the required delivery date.
Can air freight include collection and delivery?
Yes. Specify both addresses, access restrictions and delivery deadlines so the quotation covers the complete movement.
Can lithium batteries move by air?
Some battery shipments can move subject to dangerous goods classification, packaging, documentation and airline acceptance. Supply the battery and product details before booking; acceptance cannot be assumed.
